Two time spans
One from 1.000000 to 2.000000 seconds; one from 4.000000 to 5.000000 seconds.
A FIVE-MINUTE FORMAT CHECK
A tiny, invented sound. Two notes. One trip from Talk2Nature into Audacity. Help us check the file format before anyone asks it to carry a scientific claim.

THE REPRODUCIBLE PART
The app makes the package on your device. Audacity checks whether the common WAV and timed labels open together. Your result stays yours unless you choose to report it.
Open Listen and choose Try an example. You’ll see an eight-second waveform with tones at one to two seconds and four to five seconds.
Open Listen →Add two events at 1–2 s and 4–5 s. Set each to other sound; keep context unknown and source not observed. For the second note, try רגע 🌿, then a new line and second line.
Expand Continue in Audacity, download the package and unzip it. Open recording.wav, then use File → Import → Labels to import labels.txt.
Check the two label spans, the Unicode note and the visible \n escape. The full newline stays in annotations.json. Compare the source checksums in annotations.json and export-report.json. No playback is needed.
YOUR EXPECTED RESULT
One from 1.000000 to 2.000000 seconds; one from 4.000000 to 5.000000 seconds.
The WAV remains eight seconds, mono, 16 kHz. Its checksum agrees with the source record.
Both are declared synthetic “other sound” events. Animal identity and context remain unknown.
Unicode appears in the label. A newline is escaped there so it cannot split a row, and stays a newline in the JSON record.
A FAILURE IS USEFUL DATA
Share the app and OS versions, the steps you tried, and expected versus actual behavior. Use the invented example only. The issue form is public; never attach private recordings, participant details, credentials, personal file paths or sensitive wildlife locations.
